ICE Agents are suing Secretary Napolitano over deferred action

On August 23, 2012, a group of 10 ICE agents and officers, led by ICE Council president Chris Crane, filed suit against DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano and ICE Director John Morton seeking an injunction against the Napolitano Directive of June 15, 2012. The Directive orders ICE agents to violate federal immigration laws or face adverse employment action.

Kris Kobach is representing the ICE agents and officers, and NumbersUSA is providing financial assistance.

Jesus Christ. I have nothing else to say about this.

I’m keeping an eye out for similar Asian language translations but I haven’t come across any yet.

Edit: The Asian Pacific American Legal Center has in-language legal hotlines available in Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Korean, Khmer, Thai and Vietnamese.

*UPDATE* The application may be available as early as August 1. I went to a Q&A meeting with an immigration lawyer tonight to talk about the deferred action process and he said he’d gotten word just a few hours before the meeting that the application may be available sooner than August 15.
